RUTGERS

Looking for the best that college athletics has to offer? Look no further than Central Jersey! Rutgers University is a member of the Big Ten Conference!

Thirteen of the most prestigious and well-known universities in the nation visit Rutgers’ Piscataway and New Brunswick campuses on a regular basis for Big Ten athletic events, from football to wrestling to men’s and women’s soccer and basketball to baseball.

As the “Birthplace of College Football,” Rutgers is steeped in tradition in the sport. Thanks to the school’s membership in the Big Ten, powerhouse football programs such as Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State visit SHI Stadium in Piscataway on an every-other-year basis.

During Rutgers’ inaugural Big Ten football season, the school averaged a record 50,632 for its six home games and had three sellouts.

Besides a festive pre-game tailgating atmosphere featuring activities that are geared toward families and children, football fans can tour the Hale Center, a state of the art football facility. SHI Stadium, meanwhile, offers the best sight lines and amenities available, making for a fan-friendly experience during football games.

But there’s more than just football. A trip to Rutgers for a top-notch college sporting event offers plenty of variety, allowing fans to enjoy any of the following:

  • Baseball games at the Class of 1953 Baseball Complex
  • Men’s and women’s basketball games at the Rutgers Athletics Center
  • Some of the best track and field events in the country at the Bauer Track and Field Complex
  • Men’s and women’s golf at Rutgers Golf Course
  • Women’s Gymnastics at The Livingston Recreation Center
  • Men’s and women’s soccer at Yurcak Field
  • Women’s swimming and diving at The Rutgers Aquatic Center

In addition to watching Rutgers teams tackle the nation’s best opponents, the school will also host Big Ten championship events throughout the years. In the spring of 2017, the Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championship was held at Rutgers.

With 24 sports teams to choose from, there’s almost always a game going on at Rutgers from September to May. Athletics and much more await you on your trip to Central New Jersey. For more information, visit the official website for a calendar of events and ticket information.
