Museum of the American Hungarian Foundation

Located in New Brunswick, the American Hungarian Foundation is the only non-profit organization of its type in the United States to provide a museum, library, and archive of over 60,000 historical records of the American-Hungarian community. This museum strives to be a center of excellence for historical research in Hungarian arts and scientific contributions.

Model Railroad Club

Founded in 1949 by author and Master Model Railroader Paul Mallery, Model Railroad Club is one of the largest of its kind in North America. Located in a mixed-use section of Lenape Park, Union Township, this museum consists of an 11,000 sq. ft. facility showcasing many model railroad and industrial exhibits, including HO scale and N scale designs.

Sperry Observatory

The Sperry Observatory is an excellent attraction for those with an interest in astronomy. No reservations are needed to enjoy this facility, which features two of the largest telescopes on the East Coast for public use. Guests are welcome every Friday to visit the observatory to attend an illustrated talk and take in amazing views of the night sky.

Rutgers Gardens

One of the few botanical gardens that do not charge an admission fee, Rutgers Gardens welcomes guests year-round to experience this living museum. Walking around the grounds, you will get the opportunity to admire the large array of gardens and plant collections. In addition to regular guest visits, Rutgers Gardens also offers a variety of education opportunities for larger groups.

Rutgers Geology Museum

Situated in New Brunswick, the Rutgers Geology Museum is dedicated to educating visitors with a passion for geology. Guests can visit this free museum to explore its exhibits, collections, public lectures, tours, and other programs, all designed to enhance their understanding of the natural world.

Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium

Raritan Valley Community College opens its doors to the community, allowing guests to take advantage of its planetarium. The planetarium and 3M observatory are open for in-person programs and public shows with a maximum seating of 75 people.

Cornelius Low House

Once the family home of Cornelius Low, the Low House is now home to the Middlesex County Museum and is located in Piscataway. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Low House invites guests to take a step inside a piece of history, as the same building there today has stood since 1741.

Robert A. Schommer Observatory

Named after a Rutgers professor who carried out some of the first CCD imaging studies of the Large Magellanic Cloud star clusters, the Robert A. Schommer Observatory is located in the dome on the roof of the Serin Physics Laboratories.
